One of the most well shot
montages of the year; the boy tracing the
footsteps of the girl he loves, while also
imagining that she loves him in return too.
The focus in the song is equally on K.P. Karuppu’s
obsession with his lady love, and also on
humour. Some of the shots have very subtle
hints of humour, like the one where Dhanush
tries to kick start a ‘Bullet’
bike which apparently is too big and heavy
for a man of his build; kudos to Dhanush for
agreeing to such shots that challenged the
‘hero’ perception. Though the
song never took the story significantly forward,
it strongly established the premise which
made further movement easy. Aadukalam also
had a couple of other good montages in ‘Ayyayyo’
and the rap song.
