There are very few varieties that Suriya has not attempted in his career. There are two thug roles, very different from each other that Suriya played with élan. The first was Nandha, a serious and stone faced character who does not give us a clue about what is going on in his mind; the other was Aaru who wore his heart on his sleeve. The characters were diametrically opposite in their methods and mannerisms and it is credit to Suriya that he slipped into both of them with ease.
