Vijay Sethupathi, who was playing supporting roles, made his debut as the lead in the film 'Thenmerku Paruvakattru'. Vijay Sethupathi has been working with Seenu Ramasamy who directed this film in successive films. Following the Southwest monsoon film, the duo co-produced the films Evil, Dharmadurai and Mamanithan.

Mamanithan is a film directed by Seenu Ramasamy and starring Vijay Sethupathi, Gayatri, Baby Manasvi and others after the success of Dharmadurai. Musician Ilayaraja and Yuvan Shankar Raja have composed the music for the first time for this film. M. Sukumar has done the cinematography for the film. Sreekar Prasad is in charge of editing. Composer Yuvan Shankar Raja produced the film under his YSR FILMS PVT LTD.

The teaser and posters of the film have already been released and received rave reviews. Dharmadurai producer RK Suresh has acquired the Tamil and Kerala theatrical distribution rights for the film. He has mentioned this on his social media page. He has also announced that the release of the film will be in May 2022.

It has been officially announced that the movie Mamanithan will be released on May 6. Vijay Sethupathi's fans are excited about this. The anticipation is high as Ilayaraja and Yuvan Shankar Raja are teaming up for the first time in this film. Arun Vijay's Yaanai is already set to release on May 6 and Sivakarthikeyan's Don on May 13.
