The first half of 2019 just got completed and for the cinema industry only a number of films did well at the box-office and were well-received by the audiences and critics alike. While most of the other films did not perform well to our expectations, films like - Viswasam, Petta, Kanchana 3, Thadam to name a few did well.
Taking to his social media, the managing director of the popular theatre, Vettri cinemas in Chennai announced a rather rare case that had surprised many. His tweet read, “A great news to #Thalapathy fans but a hard fact to digest, for the Cinema industry.”
He further added that 19 films in total were screened in June 2019 out of which 11 films had received screenings on the big screen and out of all, only two films got a houseful show - Vijay’s Mersal (re-release) featuring Nithya Menen, Samantha Akkineni, and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead and Vijay Antony’s Kolaigaran that also starred Arjun Sarja and Ashima Narwal in the lead and the managing director further said that this is a rare case!
