Thalapathy Vijay's family has surely raised to riches, but did you know, once upon a time, they were not rolling in a lot of money? Cut back to times, when SA Chandrasekar was riding a scooter atop the Kodambakkam bridge with his wife Shobha and son Vijay for company. In his own words, he couldn't afford a car even after three films in the industry.

Veteran actor Jaishankar gave Vijay family their first car

The sight of SAC's family driving a scooter pained a superstar who happened to catch them. It was none other than Jaishankar who immediately summoned the director and asked him to take one of his cars.

However, SAC wasn't feeling comfortable with the offer and only agreed after Jaishankar said he can be paid in instalments for the car. That is how Vijay's family became the proud owner of their first car - a Red Fiat.
