"AFTER AJITH SIR SIMBU WAS THE ONLY ONE TO DO IT"

Director Venkat Prabhu's recent amusing tweet about collaborating with Simbu for his next has been spinning viral on social media and the film has already reached new heights of excitement. In an interview with Behindwoods lately, Venkat Prabhu shared his happiness over the project and a few words about the meeting with the star. 

"I've been wanting to do a film with Simbu for a long time now, but unfortunately we could never collaborate due to other commitments. I got a call from him recently and we decided to catch up. While talking casually, I went on to describe the role I have for my next which will be based on the Billa character. It won't be a prequel or a sequel but will portray my version of Billa's character.

I just gave him a rough idea and he loved it. He immediately gave me his nod and told me to go on with the script and start the shoot soon. He agreed without even hearing the entire script and after Ajith sir, he is the only one to do that. For Mankatha, I just gave an idea about the character to him and he immediately said he'll do it. I in fact voluntarily went and narrated the script before the shoot so that he'll have a better idea about the role. Even with Simbu, it happened the same way and we all are extremely excited about the project" said the director.
