We had earlier reported that the construction of Nadigar Sangam building has been given an interim stay by the High Court, after hearing the PIL of Srirangan and Annamalai, residents of Vidyodhaya Colony, Chennai. The petitioners claimed that the Nadigar Sangam is making constructions by encroaching upon a 33 feet wide public road adjacent to Habibullah Road.
The bench comprising of Justices N Kirubakaran and V Parthiban appointed an Advocate Commissioner (AC) to inspect the site and give a report. As per this K Elango will be the AC who will be inspecting the site along with the Assistant Director of Survey and the Tahsildar, Guindy Taluk.
The Nadigar Sangam has also assured the Bench that no construction will happen till the matter is resolved.
