Though the beloved sportsman took an early retirement, the highlights of his best matches and a few minutes of his helicopter shots are enough to drive away the worst of your queasy mood swings.
He is the only captain in the history of Cricket to win all ICC trophies. He has innumerable awards to his name - ICC ODI Player of the Year award in 2008 and 2009 (the first player to win the award twice), Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award in 2007, the Padma Shri in 2009 and the Padma Bhushan in 2018. The Indian Territorial Army conferred the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel to Dhoni in 2011.
Dhoni is a part of the IPL team - CSK - Chennai Super Kings. Matthew Hayden, sharing his birthday wishes for the star player, posted a picture on his Instagram handle that has got Thalapathy fans equally excited.
Sharing the picture, Hayden added, "Happy Birthday @mahi7781 Blessing an happiness always brother. This is one of my favourite pictures with legendary Vijay Chandrasekhar @chennaiipl #yellove."
