We had reported that the shooting of Thalapathy 62 is progressing at Victoria Hall, in Chennai, securing special permission from the TFPC. However, a section of producers from the industry expressed their disappointment about the TFPC allowing Thalapathy 62's shoot, when there was a strike. TFPC has currently imposed total shutdown of the industry from March 16, condemning high VPF rates by Digital Service Providers like QUBE, and requesting to bring computerised ticketing practice at cinema theatres.
 

Following the confusion, Producer Durairaj, Secretary, TFPC has officially released an audio byte to clarify on the same. He said, "During our initial meeting about the strike, we had informed to all producers that if they need to complete a schedule or a set work, they can avail a maximum of two to three days of permission so that there is no financial loss for the producer. We had discussed about it a few times before.

As a result, we received four letters from four producers, requesting for permission to shoot, and to complete set work, in spite of the TFPC strike. The first letter was from Sun Pictures, who wanted to complete their film's (Thalapathy 62) schedule. They gave the letter, well in advance, and requested for special permission, since the stunt choreographer of the movie was busy with many Telugu films. Most of the stuntmen were from Tollywood and they were already signed for other Telugu films, and if they didn't shoot within the next two days, they wouldn't be able to get the stunt master's dates for the next two months. The stunt masters Ram - Lakshman were in demand, and Sun Pictures requested that they can't miss their dates. So, we gave special permission to Sun Pictures to shoot their movie.

Likewise, we received a letter from Samuthirakani to complete his film Naadodigal 2's shoot. He requested permission for March 23, and 24 so that they can complete that particular schedule. The third letter was from 18th Cross Pictures, who wanted to complete their set work that was going on in ECR. The fourth letter was from producer Anto Joseph, who requested one day of permission to shoot his film, Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal, in Delhi.

We spoke with all four producers, and only after proper research and confirmation, we approved permission to these 4 films to shoot, in spite of the current strike. So, we request, all the other producers, to speak to us, if they have a confusion. We are not partial towards any particular producer or movie or a star. We didn't want any financial loss for the producers, and the decision was taken for the welfare of the producers only. Let us stand united."
