TELUGU FILM INDUSTRY RIDDEN WITH DRUG ABUSE ISSUES?

It can be recalled that Telugu producer Allu Arvind recently mentioned that some of the Tollywood artists are abusing drugs. He had also mentioned that there are 10 young people in the industry who are involved in substance abuse and that police are on their trail.

Meanwhile, officials of Telangana's Excise and Prohibition department reported that at least 15 personalities from the Telugu film industry were suspected to be involved in the drug racket busted in Hyderabad last week.

Post this, many English and vernacular media have carried a list of the names of some of the popular personalities in the film industry and mentioned that these people have received notices from the police.

Talking to the media on this leaked list issue, Enforcement Director, Akun Sabharwal stated that they have not revealed any names from the Excise Department or Special Investigation Team. He said that each person was given a specific date for appearing before investigators. He also mentioned that notices were served for investigation purposes and that they have not made any allegations against anyone.
