Tamil Nadu Police officials shootout on Tuticorin protestors against Sterlite Copper Industry has been the news for the past few days and the shootout has come into a strong criticism from various quarters.
 

On that note, a section of Tamil film directors and actors staged a protest, condemning the activity of Police, and demanding to close down the Sterlite industry. The protest was organised and attended by directors Pa. Ranjith, Raju Murugan, Balaji Sakthivel, Sasi, Ram, Seenu Ramasamy, Pandiraj, S.P.Jhananathan, Nalan Kumarasamy, Bramma, Mari Selvaraj, Karthik Subbaraj.

Actors like Ashok Selvan, Kalaiyarasan, Aravind Akash, and music director Santhosh Narayanan also took part in this protest.

A lot of common public were also seen extending their support in this protest.
