And now, online streaming platforms are in a high, with cheaper internet and the importance given to digitalization.
While some of the latest theatrical releases are being highly streamed in the OTT platforms, there are a number of films including Thalapathy Vijay's Master and Nishabdham rumoured to be released directly on OTT platforms. However, a denial was given by the makers on these claims.
Recently, Jyothika's Ponmagal Vandhal was buzzed to be released directly on the OTT platform Amazon Prime and that has fumed bitterness among the theatre owners. With these happening, popular director and producer Arun Kanth has opened up about the disadvantages of the revenue sharing ties with an OTT release. Check out the video below to know more:
