Suriya is currently engaged in a number of projects that also includes a web series – Navarasa, directed by Gautham Menon and debuting on Netflix. He has films like Vetrimaaran’s Vaadivasal and director Pandiraj’s film which is tentatively referred to as Suriya 40 in his kitty. Priyanka Arul Mohan, who will be making her Kollywood debut with Sivakarthikeyan's Doctor, will be seen as the female lead in this upcoming film.

Pandiraj recently revealed some exciting news about Suriya 40 in a Twitter spaces discussion. He said that Suriya 40 will just be as exciting and wholesome for Suriya fans as Kadaikutty Singam was for Karthi fans. "Everything from the title to every look, I have made each move carefully so as to provide the best for the fans," Pandiraj said!

Suriya was last seen in the hit film - Soorarai Pottru which had opted for an OTT release due to the coronavirus pandemic and went on to be the most celebrated movie in the Indian film industry in 2020. Directed by Sudha Kongara, the film featured Aparna Balamurali as the female lead while Paresh Rawal, Mohan Babu, Karunas, Vivek Prasanna, Urvashi amongst others were seen in prominent roles.
