For the past few days, actress and Bigg Boss Tamil fame Meera Mitun had hit the headlines for her controversial and derogatory remarks against actors that also included Vijay and Suriya alleging that both the actors feel threatened by her success and she is being troubled by their paid fans.

Yesterday, actor Bharathiraja has issued a press release in which he has condemned the actress’ remarks. He said, "Vijay and Suriya have done a lot of hardwork to raise to this level. Also, these actors, amidst all the glam and fame in this field, have come a long way without a black mark to their names. They are living decent lives with their families."

Bharathiraja concluded saying that while Suriya has been providing education for many kids, Vijay is also doing several humanitarian works silently. “Humiliating such people is not at all acceptable.”

Now, actor Suriya broke his silence on this issue on his Twitter in which he has asked his anbana fans (brothers and sisters) to use their precious time and energy only for useful endeavours. He further states that he wishes to extend his gratitude to Bharathiraja.

The actor had tweeted in reply to his 2018 post where he wrote, "Let us not react to cheap criticisms and lower our own esteem. Please spend you time and energy usefully for the good of the society".
