Pudhiya Mugam, a Tamil thriller directed by Suresh Menon is still remembered for its evergreen songs by AR Rahman. Apart from directing, Suresh also played the lead role along with Revathi and Vineeth. Now Suresh Menon has revealed through his Twitter space, that he is planning to do a sequel to this 1993 film.


"Pudhiya Mugam 2 script work happening...trying to make it faster paced / new, interesting scenes and use more of today's technology...:-) and make sure two heroes of the same height do the two roles..:-) :-) ;-)

casting still not finalised...some gyan on Pudhiya Mugam released in 1993. it was one of those films that worked out well after the initial hiccups...i had approached a couple of top heroes of that time to do the role and its only after they refused i ended up doing it...if they had agreed to do it, pudhiya mugam might have been ARR's first film as we had discussed the film way before Roja..

Art Director Sabu Cyril's first Tamil Film i think..Cameraman Muthu Ganesh s first film...Lyrics Vairamuthu...Stunts Vikram Dharma...My voice was dubbed by Arvind Swamy...Vineeth's voice was dubbed by Vikram...Raghuvaran did a cameo role...I think the first full film shot in Sri Lanka after the 1983 riots...So many brilliant artists & technicians just fell into place...i feel lucky & honoured..."
