Now, Mani Ratnam is all set in completing this daunting task, as he has already started shooting for this movie long back. This period drama is to have an enthralling cast ensemble.
Talented artists that include Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Lal, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Riyaz Khan are amongst the many well-known artists who are part of the crew.
Just yesterday (July 19), the makers had surprised everyone of us by unveiling a new official poster that stated that the first part of this magnum opus will be released in 2022. While this news came as a happy news for the fans, the costume designer for this film, Eka Lakhani who is super-active on her social media has shared that the shooting has kickstarted again!
Reportedly, the shooting is taking place in Pondicherry and the costume designer has shared the Covid safety advisory that is placed there at the spot. Ponniyin Selvan is being jointly bankrolled by Allirajah Subaskaran and Mani Ratnam, under their Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies banners.
