After the film, Simbu was supposed to work on a film titled Maanaadu, directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by Suresh Kamatchi. In an unexpected turn of events, he was dropped from the project.

He had announced his next project in which he will be playing the lead role and he'll also be directing the flick. It had been titled Maghaamaanaadu. The film is bankrolled by Chimbu Cine Arts. The actor will also play the central character in the Tamil remake of the Kannada blockbuster Mufti, tentatively titled Production No. 20, which also co-stars Gautham Karthik. Apart from that, the actor will also play an extended cameo role in Maha, the 50th film of Hansika.

Meanwhile, there is a new update on STR’s masterplan. After the actor returns to Chennai, he is said to meet important representatives of his fans club members and discuss certain changes and improvements that can be made in the organization.
