Popular folk singer Anthony Dasan has crooned for many film and folk songs like 'Thangachi' song from Meyaadha Maan, 'Aaha Kalyaanam' from the Anirudh Ravichander musical Petta. The singer rose to fame with his performance in the pan-Indian show Coke Studio.
The singer-composer has signed exclusively to Sony Music which recently created a buzz by gatecrashing weddings and family celebrations much to the delight and awe of guests present. This is the first time that such a unique initiative has been undertaken by Sony Music in order to promote Tamil music and the real stars behind the music in the South.
Speaking about the initiative, Anthony Dasan said "I am glad to be a part of such a fun initiative that promotes folk music and its musicians. I am personally proud that along with Sony Music, I am the first to bring about this unique collaboration. Hopefully, this will intensify efforts that are much needed to create an awareness towards the authentic folk music of our land".
These surprising act has engaged and attracted a lot of uninitiated people into the fascinating world of folk act.
