WHAT??! SILAMBARASAN'S MAANAADU RELEASE POSTPONED? - OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT SHOCKS FANS!

Apart from STR, the film features Kalyani Priyadarshan as the female lead while SA Chandrasekhar, SJ Suryah, Premgi Amaren, Karunakaran amongst others will be seen in prominent roles. The trailer of the film was released on October 2 and two-minute-long trailer gave a glimpse into Venkat Prabhu's political sci-fi thriller which deals with the concept of time loop.

The trailer had piqued the interest of fans for its unique storyline and fans are eagerly waiting to watch the movie on screens. At a time when dubbing works have been going on in full swing, Producer Suresh Kamatchi announced in a statement that the movie wouldn't be released for Deepavali as scheduled, but will be postponed to November 25. Director Venkat Prabhu too took to Twitter to confirm the same.

"Amidst several difficulties that arose due to COVID-19 pandemic, 'Maanadu', which has been in the works for a few years, has been awaiting release for some time now. Full-fledged efforts were being taken in order for the movie to be released during Deepavali. There is no competition with anyone. During a festive day, it is normal for people to watch more than one film. That is why the movie was slated to release for Deepavali," he said

Adding on to it, Suresh Kamatchi said, "I don't see movie releases as competitions. To see it as such is no marketing intelligence either. Our Maanaadu film has come out well and we're satisfied with it. We have huge expectations for it," but noted that film distributors and financiers shouldn't be affected or face losses, but witness profits."

"Just because of a few reasons, why should the movie and its success be sacrificed? That is why Maanaadu won't be arriving on Deepavali, but is postponed to a further date. The movie will be releasing on November 25," he assured.

'Maanaadu's' music is scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja, editing is handled by Praveen KL, and cinematography by Richard M Nathan. The film is also dubbed in Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada, and will be released under the title 'Rewind'.
