2018 saw a popular movement, #MeToo which brought out many women from the entertainment sphere as well. There were allegations pointed down against many celebrities like actors, producers, lyricists, singers and many more. The movement was actually started with the sole intention of seeing a world free of sexual violence.
Recently, actress Revathy Sampath took to her social media page and accused veteran Malayalam actor Siddique.
Sharing an old press meet video, the actress wrote, “After watching this video again &again, I couldn't even able to resist myself anymore!!! This Actor Siddique tried to sexually misbehave with me on 2016 in a preview of "Sukhamayirikate" movie at Nila theatre, Trivandrum..!! His verbal sexual offerings made me morally down at the age of 21... I still remember the trauma he made to me!!! He is having a daughter I guess..!! Is she safe in his hands, I wonder?? What will you do if the same thing happens with your daughter, Mr.Siddique? How can a man like him can point fingers against a prestigious &privileged collective WCC are you deserved yourself Mr.Siddhique??, think yourself!! Ulupp undo?? Shame on these masks layered, self-called gentlemen out there in the film industry..!!”
However, the comments on her Facebook did not go well with many and the users have slammed her for accusing the actor of misconduct. According to reports from Manorama Online, the actor has responded to this controversy. He had shared a deleted scene video from the movie Kodathi Samaksham Balan Vakeel on his Facebook reportedly. The film that featured Dileep, Mamta Mohandas and Priya Anand in the lead had Siddique essaying the role of Dileep’s father. In the posted video, one can see how the actor proposes and run away after hearing the girl’s response - #MeToo which also indirectly refers to the current situation. Check out the video here!
