The recently released Telugu film Kshanam came in for a lot of appreciation and Sibi Sathyaraj had mentioned that his home banner had bought the rights of the same to remake in Tamil.
Sibi opens up about the same, “Yes, we have bought the remake rights and would be doing it. The director is yet to get fixed. Talks are on and in a couple of weeks, I would be finalizing the same after which rest of the cast and crew will be firmed up. I will be doing the lead role in the film.
I casually saw Kshanam as people were appreciating it. As a script, the film really impressed me. In the recent times, I have not come across a thriller with such an emotionally driven content with a superb screenplay. I can say that it is on par with Drishyam or Papanasam. Later I came to know that Salman Khan is doing the film in Hindi. I am not sure if its true. An upcoming hero has done in Telugu and when a big hero like Salman Khan is said to be showing interest, it clearly indicates that the script is suitable for everyone whether it is a mass hero or a newcomer. There is a lot of scope for performance for the lead role. That’s also the reason I wanted to go for this film”.
About his other projects, Sibi has completed Jackson Durai which is all set to release in May. He is currently working in Arivazhagan’s associate Manikandan’s untitled film which is a dark comedy. He is paired with Aishwarya Rajesh.
