Vijay created quite the flutter when he arrived by his bicycle to cast his votes in the recently concluded Tamil Nadu state assembly elections, which the DMK won. Many construed the move as being his way of showing resistance to the increase in fuel prices. However, the actor’s PR later clarified that Vijay had done so as the polling booth was near his house and he didn’t want to create congestion by bringing a big car on to the narrow roads.

Now, we have laid our hands on a throwback photo of the actor celebrating his birthday when he was in his teens, looking all shy and excited at the same time. 

Vijay was born to Shobha and Chandrasekhar and expressed his desire to act, right from a tender age. His initial films didn’t fare well, however, he soon found his footing with the success of films like Poove Unakaga, Kadhalukku Mariyadhai, Thulladha Manamum Thullam and such. Later, he shifted gears on to the action genre and did many successful films such as Thirumalai, Ghilli, etc, and is now, one of the bonafide stars of the industry.
