The Producer council election starts today (2nd April). The build up to the election has been heated up a lot and there is a lot of tension that exists between the stars who are competing against each other in this election.

Producer Shibu Thameens who has bankrolled films like Iru Mugan and Puli has come out with a message for all his contemporaries who are competing in the election. He said, '' Well said, Piracy is the big threat, whom ever win, they should fight for that, it's not by the single body ( producer council), who could do it successful, The entire film fraternity (exhibitors, distributors, technicians, Nd artists) should come together. Healthy competition and fighting for victory is always good, but when once selected and been n power , we should forget all the grudge and work together. Hats of to all the respected candidates irrespective of you win or you loose, bow to the initiative to serve for all of us (members of this film family). My best wishes to all the candidates.''
