Shakeela is not new to the Tamil audiences – she has made appearances in popular films such as Siva Manusula Shakthi, Boss Engira Bhaskaran and such.

A biopic is also being made on her. Shakila biopic, directed by Indrajit Lankesh, starring Richa Chadha and Pankaj Tripathi had created a lot of buzz on the internet when it was announced.

The director stated that the biopic would be a women-centric subject and had a good message for the audience. He also added that the Censor formalities have been completed and the film is ready to hit the theatres once the lockdown curbs ease.

Alternatively, the director also suggested that he is in talks with OTT platforms and mulling the option of releasing the film on Netflix. Reports say an MNC has bagged the dubbing rights of the movie in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. While Veera Samarth has scored the music, Easter Noronha and Rajiv Pillai play key roles in the biopic.
