Popular television serial actress Nilani made it to the headlines, due to her alleged boyfriend, Gandhi Lalith Kumar's suicide. While there was a mystery surrounding his death, actress Nilani visited the Commissioner of Police to file a written complaint against media channels that report false news stories without any evidence.

Post the meeting with the Comissioner, Nilani met the press and explained about her relationship with Gandhi. While talking, Nilani broke down into tears and added that Gandhi was a psycho, according to her.
 

She said, "I got introduced to Gandhi Lalithkumar three years back, and we became good friends after few months of talking to each other. I am a single mother with two children. My husband left with another woman. Gandhi helped me with small day to day works, like picking up my children from school and dropping off them at school, and a lot more. After a point of time, he presented me a marriage proposal, to which I did not agree. I was a single mother and I thought if this marriage would impact the lives of my children.
 

However, I continued getting love proposals from various other people, and that is when I felt, if I married Gandhi, atleast a little amount of secured feeling could be there. I gave it a thought, but didn't tell him. Later, I found out that Gandhi was a womanizer, who is not anymore with his family members.

His own family members, including his brother and sister do not like him, and they said that he was the reason for his mother's death. I came to know about many other shocking details about him. He has cheated a lot of innocent girls and has absconded with their money.

Knowing about this, I started to maintain a distance with him, and told him I cannot talk to him like before. I ignored him. We did not talk for few months, and later this year, in May, when the Sterlite issue was at its peak, I was arrested by the Police for the video I had put on social media. Though I did not ask for, Gandhi came out of nowhere and offered me help, and took me out of the prison, with my own money.

I discovered that in this gap, where we didn't talk, he cheated on four other girls. After coming out, he agreed that he was a womanizer indeed, but would stay honest to me with fullest love. I did not want to talk about that matter, so I ignored him whenever he brought that topic for discussion.

The situation got worse when he started to force me for marriage, after a point in time. He hurt my kids and threatened to kill them, if I do not agree to marry him. He also hurt me with bruises all over my body. I underwent a disturbing physical torture. I will show my evidences to the legal department and the Police. I cried inside my heart for so many days. He is a psycho.

He attacked his own relative in front of me, and I have had many disturbing experiences with him. Without being able to handle this issue, I told him I cannot marry him for sure. That triggered him even more, and that is when I filed a complaint against him with the Police.

He came to the shooting spot of my serials, where he immolated himself with petrol and fire. I hurried to the Kilpauk Medical College to see him, on the grounds of humanity, even though, he has made me undergo various problems. After his death, many media channels reported that I hid myself and absconded from the city. But nothing of that sort has happened, and I am here standing before you all. There is no reason for me to hide from anyone."
