COMMON FACTOR BETWEEN RAJINI AND VIJAY - SANTHOSH NARAYANAN REVEALS

Santhosh Narayanan is one of the finest composers Tamil Cinema has got. He shot to fame with his debut film, Attakathi directed by Pa Ranjith. Recently, his work for Pariyerum Perumal was lauded by critics and audience alike. 

His next film Vada Chennai too has got a certain hype because of Santhosh's music. He spoke to Behindwoods about his experiences working for Pariyerum Perumal and Vada Chennai, and also about making Vijay sing for Bairavaa, and Thalapathy gifting the music composer for his birthday.

"In the last 15 movies, he has used around 13 composers. It felt really great when he presented a gift to one of the 13 composers. He's getting the same feel that 90's Rajini got. We both haven't spent much time together. But the time we spent was a lot of quality time.

He always tells us what he likes about us. He said he likes a specific song in Jigarthanda. It is all old school. Vijay, Rajini... all those loved by people have that quality."

Talking about Vijay's singing skills, "He's a semma singer. He's a bit shy. I like how he sang in Badri. He is a complete singer... He, Dhanush, Kamal, Siddharth,, all these can approach any song. We wanted Vijay to sing. Initially he was a bit skeptical. He said he'll sing but is not sure about the quality of the output. At the end, the song came out well and his energy was superb!"
