Here are a few notable quickies that you might have missed:
1. Sivakarthikeyan is all set to release the music of Ippadai Vellum, starring Udhayanidhi Stalin, Soori, Daniel Balaji and Manjima Mohan of AYM fame. The event is happening tomorrow (12th October) at Kalaivanar Arangam at 6 PM in the evening.
2. The trailer of Santhanam's latest, Sakka Podu Podu Raja, has been announced to be released on the 14th of this month, three days from now. The film also has Vivek. Interestingly, STR is composing music, so it has raised a lot of expectations.
3. Anupam Kher has been appointed as the chairman of Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune. He is replacing Gajendra Chauhan, who had a controversial tenure as head.

Less than an hour ago, 24 AM Studios announced on their official Twitter page that they will be releasing Velaikkaran, starring Sivakarthikeyan, Nayanthara and Fahadh Faasil in Chennai on the 22nd of December through SPI Cinemas.
Their tweet read: "Happy to announce we @24AMSTUDIOS release our @Siva_Kartikeyan in @jayam_mohanraja’s #Velaikkaran in Chennai City through @SPIcinemas".
