While Samuthirakani plays a brave police officer in the film, Iniya plays his wife and the leading lady. Apart from the leads, the film also features S.A Chandrasekhar, Sakshi Agarwal, Abi Saravanan, Yuvan Mayilsamy, Rohini, Imman Annachi, Madurai Mayakka, and little Diana Sri in prominent roles.

The much-awaited trailer of this upcoming film was unveiled yesterday after the press meet. During the event, the director started off his speech by thanking actor-music composer Vijay Antony for attending the event despite having high fever and wishing him the best for Kodiyil Oruvan. He further says, “I was known for making crime and socially conscious films, but I had to change my direction style in the '90s to make youthful films with Vijay. After several years, I'm returning to the crime genre."

"Samuthirakani agreed to be a part of the film right after listening to the one-liner. He is a director's actor and an even better human being. He reminds me of my younger self." SA Chandrasekar also talked about his current relationship with his son, Vijay and also said that yes, there are problems persisting between them and asks which family does not have any problems.
