He made his directorial debut with the film Podaa Podi starring Simbu and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar in the lead. Post which, he went on to helm Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara's Naanum Rowdydhaan. It is said that during this film Nayanthara and Vignesh fell in love. Now he is once again directing Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara in Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal which also features Samantha. The film is all set to release on April 28. The movie's posters and teaser have hit the internet.

Vignesh has shared a story on his Instagram page today which has grabbed several attention. In it RRR, KGF 2, Beast and Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal along with their release dates were mentioned.

RRR - March 25

The next film to be directed by SS Rajamouli after the success of Baahubali series is "RRR". Ramcharan and Jr.NTR will be seen in lead roles while Bollywood actor Ajay Devgan, Alia Bhatt and Samuthirakani will be seen in prominent roles. The film is based on the lives of Telugu freedom fighters Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. The film was earlier scheduled to be released in January but was postponed due to Corona pandemic and now, it has been announced that it will be released on March 25th. 

KGF 2 - April 14

KGF is a 2018 blockbuster film in Kannada cinema. The film was directed by Prashant Neil featuring Yash in the lead. Following the success of the first part,its sequel is all set to release now which stars Yash, Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Prakash Raj and Srinidhi Shetty. Composed by Ravi Basrur, the second part is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner Hombale Films. The posters and teaser of the film have been released and well-received.

Beast

Although the official release date of Beast has not been announced yet, credible reports suggest that it might be released ahead of the Tamil New Year. The first single from the film, Arabic Kuthu, was released and was a hit with over 150 million viewers. The film stars Pooja Hegde opposite Vijay and also features Selvaragavan, VTV Ganesh and Yogi Babu in prominent roles. The film is produced by Sun Pictures. Composer Anirudh composes the music and cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa does the cinematography. Nelson's previous film Doctor and Vijay's previous film Master were well received by the fans. So the fans are badly waiting with bated breath for Beast.

Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal - April 28

Following the success of the movie Naanum Rowdydhaan, director Vignesh Shivan - Nayanthara - Vijay Sethupathi have teamed up for the movie "Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal". The film stars Nayanthara and Samantha in the lead roles. Produced by Rowdy Pictures and Seven Screen Studios, the film is set to release on April 28. The film's teaser and Titanic poster have been a big hit amongst the fans.
