Bharathi Kannamma has always been a fan favorite serial. Broadcast on Vijay TV, the serial focusses on the story of Kannamma and Bharathi, who fight for their love and unite after a long hiatus. Shunned upon by the society for her color, her husband is the only person who was her staunch supporter. But due to the vile antics of the villainous Venba who is crazy on Bharathi, the latter suspects Kannamma of adultery and throws her out of the house.

Soundarya, Bharathi's mother, who was averse to Kannamma at the very beginning, grew to love her sincerity and good nature, and even when her son drove Kannamma out of the house. Years later, the couple's twin daughters are growing up - one with their father and the other with their mother. It so happens that Soundarya presents one of the kids to Bharathi as an orphaned kid and he brings her up like his own daughter.

Of late, reports are doing heavy rounds that the main lead of the serial Kannamma aka Roshni Haripriyan has walked out of the serial and it is said that Saturday (October 23) was her last day in her breakthrough role of Kannamma. Reportedly, since Roshni has bagged a number of roles in movies that is why she decided to leave 'Bharathi Kanamma'. However, an official confirmation for the same is awaited!
