Home > Tamil Movies > Tamil Cinema NewsOn January 12, pirated versions of Superstar Rajinikanth's recently released supercop thriller, Darbar, was illegally telecast in some areas of Madurai by a local cable TV operator called Saranya TV.
Expressing shock over the illegal telecast of their production, the producers of the movie 'Darbar' released a statement seeking the arrest of the offenders. A complaint was also lodged at the office of the Commissioner of Police, Madurai, against the operators of the above said local TV network.
Based on the complaint, the owner of Saranya TV was detained by police and the case is being investigated now.
When Behindwoods contacted Mr. Praveen, the distributor of Darbar for the Madurai area, he confirmed the above development saying, "It is true that the offenders have been arrested, but FIR is yet to be registered as the investigation is still in progress."
He further added, "It appears that they have used 2-3 relay points for broadcasting the film. While a computer system is already been seized, the police are now in the process of probing and confiscating other types of equipment, including CPUs, relay hubs and other systems that they were using to telecast the movie."
