Alya Manasa, who played the popular Sandhya role in the popular serial which airs from Monday to Friday at 9.30 pm, has a huge fan base on social media.

With this being said, Sandhya's role is now being replaced by Riya as Alya is on a maternity break. Alya Manasa played the role of Sandhya in this critically acclaimed serial. She is said to have withdrawn from this serial for her delivery as she is currently pregnant for the second time. In this case, Riya has signed on to replace Alya for the role of Sandhya. The storyline till date: She has told her husband Saravanan about her life ambition which no one knows yet. She says she has lived with the dream of becoming a police officer since childhood to prevent crime in the community and catch criminals. On hearing this, Saravanan said that he would somehow make Sandhya a policeman and encouraged her that becoming a policeman was not only her dream but also his. But Sandhya decides not to work for the police in order to accept family responsibilities.

In this situation, Saravanan is arrested by the police on a false charge of selling illicit drugs in his shop. Sandhya is upset when she sees Saravanan being beaten and tortured by the police at the police station. Saravanan exclaims to Sandhya that people like her move away from taking up jobs like these (police), and thats why it lands in the hands of wrong people.
