Radha Ravi is a popular actor in the Tamil film industry, who is known for his roles in films like Manithan, Iraivi, Sarkar, Jil Jung Juk and others. The actor was also a part of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam political party, whose alliance won 37 seats in the recently concluded Lok Sabha Elections.
The actor was recently criticised by celebrities as well as netizens because of a controversial speech at the trailer launch event of Nayanthara starrer Kolaiyuthir Kaalam. The film is produced by Mathyalagan under the banner Etcetera Entertainment, and directed by Chakri Toleti.
He had questioned the character of the actor and her choice of roles, which received a lot of backlash. The DMK took action against Radha Ravi by temporarily suspending his membership from the party. Now, it is revealed that the party has expelled him.
He has now become a member of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, that is headed by the current Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Edappadi K Palaniswamy and the Deputy Chief Minister, O Panneerselvam. It must be noted that Radha Ravi was earlier a member of the AIADMK, and contested in the 2002 by-elections at Saidapet Constituency.
