Film distributor and politician J Anbazhagan has also joined in the dialogue and discussion over the ethics of film releases in the context of how members from the fraternity protested for banning IPL as part of the movement towards setting up of the Cauvery Management Board.

He tweeted just a while ago, which read:

"I welcomed the way Kollywood protested for #CauveryIssue on banning IPL in Chennai to gain National attention. Do #TFPC & #SIAA have guts to stop releasing new movies until #CauveryManagementBoard forms?

#BoycottTamilCinema"

Popular editor Ruben replied to this tweet and raised an important point. He said:

Anbazhagan replied, "Am not requesting to go on a strike as I know very well tat it affects the daily wages, my intention is to stop releasing new movies until CMB forms."
