LOCKDOWN EFFECT: 'ACTORS SHOULD CUT DOWN THEIR SALARIES BY..'- POPULAR PRODUCER'S PLEA TO SAVE KOLLYWOOD
Home > Tamil Movies > Tamil Cinema NewsProducer J. Satish Kumar has bankrolled several critically acclaimed films such as Thanga Meengal, Idharkuthaane Aasapattai Balakumara to name a few.
In his Twitter account, the producer proposed a three-point plan to recover the Tamil film industry from the after-effects of the Coronavirus lockdown, which led to the suspension of all shoots and screenings, thereby causing a major dent in the livelihood of those who depend on daily shoots.
Satish wrote that all heroes and heroines, directors, music directors and cinematographers must cut their salaries by 30 percent. He also requested financiers to waive off entire interest amounts for three months, and theatre owners and distributors to prioritise the release of small films that will be releasing during the lockdown.
Satish Kumar concluded by requesting support to keep our industry from sinking during this phase. Satish Kumar will be next seen as an actor in the Arun Vijay-Vijay Antony starrer Agni Siragugal and Harbhajan Singh's Friendship.
I kindly request the following on behalf of the entire tamil film industry during this time of crisis and for the welfare of our industry. Lets join hands and support ourselves. Thank you 😊 pic.twitter.com/rIo7ozWqUh
