PAN-INDIAN SUPERHERO FILM CONFIRMED FOR RELEASE ON THIS DATE - FANS SUPER-EXCITED! VIDEO

Though the makers had initially announced a pan-Indian theatrical release - in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi - followed by a digital release later, it was decided to go for a direct digital release on a popular OTT platform. The upcoming action flick will see Malayalam icon Tovino Thomas as the superhero ‘Minnal Murali.' The story revolves around the story of an ordinary man-turned-superhero Murali, who is struck by a bolt of lightning, which bestows him with special powers.

Earlier, the makers released a small teaser which showed a particular area being struck by heavy lightning. As the TV goes blank, we saw the title emerging in all major languages. The movie's release date has been announced officially now. Minnal Murali will premiere on Netflix on Christmas Eve - December 24. Netflix India South took to their Twitter handle to make this announcement and released a small video which had a christmas-themed backdrop and a melodious music. As the camera zooms into the star on the Christmas tree, we see a small superhero figurine.

Apart from Tovino, the film also stars Guru Somasundaram, Harisree Ashokan and Aju Varghese in pivotal roles. Sophia Paul is bankrolling the film under the banner of Weekend Blockbusters. Filmmaker Sameer Thahir is the film's cinematographer and it has music by Shaan Rahman.
