NEW REDUCED TICKET PRICES AT THIS ICONIC THEATRE IN CHENNAI

It is a known fact that the Goods and Services (GST) tax rates for movie ticket prices have been reduced by the GST Council. With effect from January 1, 2019, movie ticket prices above Rs 100 will have a GST of 18% (reduced from 28%) and ticket prices below Rs 100 will have a tax of 12% (reduced from 18%).
 

Meanwhile, Vettri Theatres, Chromepet have officially confirmed the same and the revised ticket prices are now seen on their official ticket booking page. The new ticket prices in Vettri will have two  different rates for two different classes.

The Balcony tickets at Vettri will now cost Rs 150 (reduced from Rs 160), while the Gold category tickets have been reduced to Rs 110 from its earlier cost of Rs 118.

Rakesh Gowthaman, Managing Director of Vettri Theatres made the announcement through his tweet, "Bookings opened for Jan 01 2019 with revised #GST ticket prices in #Vettri ... Balcony tickets reduced from ₹160 to ₹150 Gold tickets  reduced from ₹118 to ₹110 Advanced New Year Wishes !!!"

It should be noted that the screens of Vettri Theatres were recently upgraded with RGB Laser Technology during the release of Shankar's 2.0.
