ME TOO: NEW COMMITTEE SETUP TO HELP VICTIMS IN TELUGU FILM INDUSTRY

The Me Too controversy has been taking India by storm. Following accusations by victims on various people, a lot of steps are being taken in order to curb harrassment. This includes setting up of an Internal Complaints Committee at workplaces.

Similarly, the Telugu Film Chamber have set up a group called Voice for Women. It has been setup to protect the women in Telugu Film Industry and media. The objectives of the group are as follows:

1) To stand up in solidarity against sexual abuse

2) To create awareness about a safe working environment for women.

3) To sensitize, support and mentor women in Telugu Film industry and allied media to be stronger.

4) To initiate a dialogue with TFI bodies and to create safe working conditions for women to speak up against sexual harrassment.

5)  Your voice will be heard and kept confidential.
