Ace director Mani Ratnam is currently busy with the pre-production process of 'Ponniyin Selvan', the silverscreen adaptation of the five-part Tamil novella written by Kalki Krishnamurthy. The director's last-helmed film, the ensemble gangster epic Chekka Chivandha Vaanam, went on to be a critical and commercial success.
Meanwhile, the ensemble cast of the film will be having another star-studded addition. Our close sources have confirmed that Lady superstar Nayanthara has been roped in to portray the role of Kundhavai in the film. The director will be collaborating with the actress for the first time.
Other members of the starcast include Aishwarya Rai and 'Chiyaan' Vikram. The film is jointly scripted by Mani Ratnam and 'Kaatrin Mozhi', 'Kurangu Bommai' fame actor Kumaravel.
On the work front, Nayanthara is playing a crucial role in of the Chiranjeevi-starrer Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and the actress is playing the female lead in Vijay's Bigil and the Nivin Pauly-starrer Love Action Drama. Watch this space for more updates.
