SINGER TAKES UP A NEW AVATAR

Malayalam playback singer Najim Arshad, who has made a space for himself with his soulful singing, turns into a composer through Mohanlal-Major Ravi's war movie '1971 Beyond Borders'. The movie has three music directors Siddharth Vipin, Rahul Subramaniam and Najim composing a song each. Najim's song which has been planned for the climax portion has Hindi lyrics and conveys a mood of pathos and war tone.
 

Call it coincidence or destiny, it was Major Ravi who gave Najim his first break as a playback singer in 'Mission 90 days', the Mammootty film, back in 2007. Najim has sung a couple of Tamil songs including the one in the to-be released Tamil film 'Koncham Koncham'.
