With the 'Queen' actress confirming a theatrical release on September 10, 2021, coinciding with the festive day of Vinayagar Chaturthi, fans are excited to watch the biographical drama directed by AL Vijay that shows the rise of former late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's journey from being an ace-actress and a captivating star to becoming one of the most powerful politicians in India.
With just ten days to go for the trillingual movie to release on big screens, the makers have released a romantic song 'Unthan Kangalil Ennadiyo' tracing the on-screen chemistry between Jayalalithaa and MGR, recreating the iconic songs of the superstars. The song's teaser was released on Friday (August 27) and the nearly 2.20- minute-long song has the duo recreating four iconic MGR-Jayalalithaa songs from the golden era of the 60s and 70s.
While the song shows the meteoric rise of Jayalalithaa, it also shows the brewing romance between the actors. We can see a scene where MGR brings her ice cream of all flavours as he didn't know which one was her favourite. With the BGM cleverly juxtaposing with the storyline, the track also gave a glimpse into the popularity of the Actor-Politician MGR.
The four songs that were recreated included Kannae Kaniyae and Enna Porutham from 'Rasiya Police 115' (1968), Ninaithathai Nadathiyae from 'Nam Naadu' (1969), Ninaithen Vanthai from 'Kaavalkaaran' (1967).
