MODEL SENTENCED TO 3 YEARS IN PRISON FOR PLOTTING TO KILL NATIONAL AWARD WINNING DIRECTOR

Mumbai based model Preeti Jain was convicted today by a sessions court in Mumbai for conspiring to kill National award winning director Madhur Bhandarkar, whom she had accused of rape.

In 2005 the model was arrested for plotting to kill Madhur Bhandarkar when she filed a rape case against the director. Preeti Jain accused Madhur Bhandarkar of sexually exploiting her after promising her a lead role in his films. However, in 2012, the rape charges against the director were called off by the court after Preeti Jain told the court that she is dropping the charges. Later, the model was left out on bail.

Today, 28 April 2017,  the Mumbai session court on the verdict of the case has sentenced Preeti Jain and her supporting aides to three years of imprisonment.
