"HANG ME TO DEATH IF...", DIRECTOR SUSI GANESAN'S EMOTIONAL STATEMENT

Independent poet and filmmaker Leena Manimekalai accused director Susi Ganesan of sexual harassment, as part of the MeToo movement, that is going viral on social media. Leena also explained about the incident, in detail, during her press meet that happened yesterday (October 17). In the next few hours, later that night, director Susi Ganesan was also seen meeting the Press and Media to deny the allegation and explain his situation. The Thiruttu Payale director questioned the authenticity of Leena's allegations and added that she is making use of MeToo for her own publicity.
 

"I did not expect I would meet the Press and Media, in a very depressing situation like this. The last three days have been disturbing and I had to undergo a mental stress. I need to be supportive of my family and take care of them, but this incident has put it upside down. My kids are consoling me and telling that things will be fine soon. My wife is heartbroken and my mother in law is also not well. This incident has put my house in silence.

If the allegation is proved against me at the Court in front of the justice, I am all ready to accept any punishment. Hang me to death if it I am declared as the offender. But, at the same time, if I am proven right and to be honest, please put her behind the bars atleast for ten days. People should realise why false accusations shouldn't be made. Women like Leena take advantage and do something in the name of feminism and women liberation.

I am taking this issue to the Court now. I will be filing a defamation case against Leena, and I am the first person in Tamil Nadu to file such a case, with regards to MeToo movement. Many people asked me why I had to approach the Court for this matter, but, this is how I am. Susi Ganesan is someone who believes in self respect, truth and humanity. I have proofs to prove my genuinity and the truth. I do not believe the media because there are possibilities of a truth getting twisted in the wrong way, just to make it more spicy. So, I am taking this issue to the court and I am sure I will win the case.

I happened to see her Facebook posts and it has so many abusive and disturbing stories. She seems to be in an abnormal situation. Her comments on the social media are derogatory.

To all the media houses, I place a humble request. If someone posts an allegation against someone on social media, please do check its authenticity. If that person is found guilty of what he did, punish him with your own slippers. However, at the same time, don't cover a story, just because it was put on social media. There should be a sense of truthfulness in the allegation.  I am also extending my support to the MeToo movement and the women safety is very important, but at the same time, I wish people do not make advantage of the cause, like the one that happened to me now."
