It is official now that Vijay's Adirindhi, the Telugu version of Mersal would be releasing coming Thursday on the 26th of October. The Telugu version has been pushed by a week because of the delay in censor proceedings.
Mersal currently enjoys a nation-wide buzz, and the audience who have not watched the film yet are eagerly looking forward to seeing Thalapathy in action.

Popular film distributor Sakthivelan has urged Vijay to raise his voice against online piracy. His statement comes after a political party leader claimed that he watched Mersal online using a pirated copy.
Sathivelan's tweet reads as follows, "இது சரியான தருணம். இணையத்தில் முறைகேடாக படம் பார்ப்பதற்கு எதிராக @actorvijay அவர்கள் குரல் கொடுக்க வேண்டும். #Mersal #Save_cinema"
