The movie is touted as the costliest project of Mammootty and expectations are high on the magnum opus. Mamangam is directed by M. Mamangam will be released in Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. The adapted screenplay is penned by Shankar Ramakrishnan. Mammootty was in Chennai on Monday for the promotion of the movie. According to him, Mamangam in original version will have the linguistic connect with Tamil.
The actor said: “Mamangam isn’t a revenge story, but it will delve into the philosophy, where there’s no point in seeking revenge and it is conveyed as a beautiful element in the end. In fact, it will have a contemporary prominence of what many are fighting for.” Mammootty also thanked Director Ram for helping him in the dubbing of the film. The duo had collaborated for critically acclaimed ‘Peranbu’.
Mamangam is based on a religious festival, held once every 12 years at Thirunavaya, on the banks of Bharathapuzha in Kerala. Elaborating on this, Mammootty said, it is a duty to bring history to audiences through films. “Today, we are watching many films from different languages, what connects us together is the emotions that are conveyed,” the veteran actor said.
