The ‘Vikram Vedha’ star posted a collage of images from the film and a message, “20 years that flew by since the release of my debut film.20 years of Alaipayuthey. Thank you all for keeping me and the memories alive.”

The 2020 romantic drama directed by Mani Ratnam had Shalini and Madhavan in the lead roles and Vivek, K. P. A. C. Lalitha, Swarnamalya, Arvind Swami and Kushboo in crucial roles and music composed by A.R. Rahman.

Since his debut film, Madhavan has worked with Mani Ratnam on other films such as ‘Kannathil Muthamittal’, ‘Guru’ and ‘Aayutha Ezhuthu’.

Madhavan was last seen in role of a cop in ‘Vikram Vedha’ alongside Vijay Sethupathi and the OTT web series ‘Breathe’.
