The Habitat Film Festival is the only film festival in India organized by a film society known as the Habitat Film Club and is currently taking place in Delhi. The 11th annual festival began on Saturday, the 7th May and has plenty of Tamil cinema representation participating over its week long run.
Popular Madhavan and Ritika Singh starrer “Irudhi Suttru” and National Award winning film “Visaraanai” already played over the weekend. Jayam Ravi’s commercial hit of 2015 “Thani Oruvan” as well as the multilingual, independent film “Lens” directed by Jayaprakash Radhakrishnan, which has also taken part in several other international showcases played yesterday, the 10th of May.
Later to come to this week is festival darling M. Manikandan’s second feature film, Kutrame Thandanai, starring Aishwarya Rajesh, Pooja Devariya and Vidharth, which is also playing in New York City just a day before it screens in Delhi. Newer Tamil films “Aruvi” by Arun Prabhu and “Oattathoodhuvan-1854” directed by R. M. Chidambaram will also be screened this weekend.
