Following this, he experimented with movies in different genres - black comedy, thriller, family drama, feel-good movies and every movie had a unique Lijo Pellissery trademark. His latest was Jallikattu, a totally raw and rustic take on the true nature of human beings.
Jallikattu's screenplay was by S. Hareesh and R. Jayakumar, and was based on the short story Maoist by Hareesh. The film stars Antony Varghese, Chemban Vinod Jose, Sabumon in crucial roles. A bull escapes and villagers try to hunt down the animal before it runs rampant in their locality - but there is more it than what meets the eye.
This was a pathbreaking movie in the industry, and received many accolades. Now, it's Lijo's latest announcement that has surprised fans.
