She had won the award for portraying the role of legendary late actress Savitri in 2018 hit, Mahanati, which was also released as Nadigaiyar Thilagam in Tamil. Recently, the recipients of the 66th National Awards were bestowed with their awards and felicitated by the Vice President of India - Mr. Venkaiah Naidu.

The awards ceremony took place in the Vigyan Bhawan at New Delhi. The pictures of the same have been doing good rounds on the internet and congratulations are pouring in for all the achievers including Keerthy Suresh.

The actress has taken to her social media and in her grateful note, she has thanked everyone for this, “I can’t possibly put my feelings into words but I’m going to try. This was not just a dream but a goal that kept me going. Thanks to each and everyone who have been a part of this unforgettable journey. I dedicate this to My mother, an actor who was the driving force for me to become one, my uncle Mr.Govind who pushed me to commit to Mahanati when I was sceptical to accept the offer. Nagi, the Brain behind all these, his vision is beyond what one can think. Last but never the least, Savitrima, You watched us and blessed us through out. Thank You for choosing me. I will always be indebted to you.
