He put out a video message on social media in which he had said: While I was working on Paruthiveeran itself, I got a call from Selva for Aayirathil Oruvan. We gave two and a half years for the project. I learnt a lot. Selva is among the important directors of Tamil cinema. It’s great that the film is back on screens again after 10 years. Thanks to passionate producers like Ravindran. The film is still talked about. See the film in theatres from December 31 onwards.*
